The Nillumbik HomeBiz Network

History from 2005 to the current time...

A group of Nillumbik home-based business operators joined with Council in late 2004 to survey local business operators about their wants and needs. The results of this survey showed that home based business operators had a set of needs specific to their business sector that could be supported in many varying ways by the formation of a network.

From early 2005 to late 2006, the Network has run many Networking Nights and two successful HomeBiz Expo's. A grant secured from DOTARS (Dept. Of Transport and Regional Services) in mid 2006 has provided the Network with the opportunity to establish itself as an independent Incorporated association.

At an open forum for all members held in October 2006, a professional facilitator helped us workshop what are Mission, Vision, Values, Aims and Objectives were. The resulting information was taken away by volunteer work-groups to be formatted into a document which would become part of our Rules of Association.
